What paver and stone sealing costs in Central Texas

Pavers are priced by the square foot, but the square foot is not the whole story. What moves the number, and what to ask for.

Pavers look permanent, and that is exactly why sealing quotes confuse people: the job is a mix of cleaning, repair and coating, and not every quote includes all three. Here is what sets the price in Central Texas.

Area, then condition

Patios, walkways, driveways and pool decks are measured by area, and larger areas usually cost less per square foot because the setup is shared. Condition is what changes the effort for the same area.

  • Staining: oil, rust and organic stains need targeted treatment.
  • Growth: moss and algae in the joints come out before anything is sealed.
  • Weathering: faded, chalky surfaces absorb more sealer than newer ones.
  • Joint sand: how much is missing decides how much has to be refilled after the clean.

Clean, dry, then seal

The order matters. A thorough wash, enough dry time and fresh joint sand come before the sealer goes on, and the dry time depends on weather. Rushing it is the main reason sealed pavers look cloudy.

The sealer and the finish

Sealers differ in finish (natural, enhanced or glossy) and in how they protect the surface. The product and the number of coats change both the materials and the labor. Ask which sealer is being used and what the finish will look like.

What to check on a quote

  • Whether cleaning, joint sand and sealing are all included
  • Which sealer and finish are quoted
  • How many coats are applied and the drying time before foot traffic
  • What is excluded, such as repairs to sunken or broken pavers

Why we look before we price

Two patios of the same size can be completely different jobs. Send a few photos with your request, or ask for a visit, and you get a written scope for the whole job. The estimate is free, with no obligation.

Common questions

How much does paver sealing cost in Central Texas?
Area is the starting point, then condition. Stained, mossy or weathered pavers need a deeper clean and more joint sand than clean ones, and the sealer you pick changes the material cost. We quote after a look at photos or the surface instead of giving a single rate.
Do pavers need to be cleaned before sealing?
Always. A sealer locks in whatever is on the surface. Dirt, algae and old stains sealed under a new coat stay visible for years, so the clean comes first and the surface has to be fully dry before sealing.
What does joint sand have to do with it?
Cleaning washes some of the sand out of the joints. Refilling it keeps the pavers locked together and slows weeds, and the sealer then helps hold it in place.
Will sealing make my pavers shiny?
Only if you choose a wet-look or gloss sealer. A natural or matte finish deepens the color slightly and leaves the stone looking like stone. Ask to see the finish before the whole area is done.
