Before we arrive
How to prepare for your service
Fifteen minutes of prep on your side makes the day go smoothly — and gets you a better result. Here's the short list.
Before we arrive
- Clear the work area. Move cars off the driveway, and pull furniture, planters, grills and hoses back from decks, patios and fence lines.
- Give us water and power. An outdoor spigot and a working outlet are all we need — tell us where they are if they're not obvious.
- Bring pets and kids inside while we're working. Surfaces get slick, and equipment is loud.
- Close the windows on the side we're washing, and pull blinds where a soft wash will run past them.
- Flag anything delicate: exterior outlets, cameras, speakers, lights, decorative finishes, freshly painted trim, or a section of fence you already know is loose or rotten.
- Tell us about access limits: locked gates, a dog in the yard, an HOA rule, or a neighbour's fence line we shouldn't touch.
During the visit
- Expect noise and water. A pressure washer runs loud; overspray stays in the work area but the ground will be wet.
- We protect the surroundings. Plants get watered down and covered, pavers and patios get covered where overspray could reach, and we rinse everything when we're done.
- Wood has to dry before it's sealed. If we're staining, there's often a gap of a day or more between the wash and the coat — that's the job, not a delay.
- You don't have to be home. Plenty of customers ask for a text on arrival and photos when we finish.
After we leave
- Stay off wet concrete and decking until it dries — usually a few hours, longer in shade.
- Give fresh stain time to cure. Keep furniture off a newly stained deck for a few days, and try to avoid heavy foot traffic on a stained fence line.
- Wait out the rain. Fresh penetrating stain wants a dry stretch to cure properly; if a storm rolls in right after, tell us and we'll take a look.
- Put things back and enjoy it. If anything doesn't look right, call us — we come back and fix it. That's the deal.
Not sure about something on this list? Ask when you book — we'd rather answer a question up front than work around a surprise on the day.
